Karen L. Roberts, D.O.

Karen L. Roberts, D.O. began her study of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997 at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. Dr. Roberts completed her internship and residency training in Family Medicine at Central Maine Medical Family Practice Residency Program. She was awarded a National Health Service Corps Scholarship and in return practiced combined Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) in rural Fort Kent and Eagle Lake for over six years. Acknowledged for her skill and dedication, she was awarded the Karen J. Hallee, MD memorial award for New Professionals in Primary Care in Maine. In December 2011 she completed a one year fellowship in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (NMM/OMM). She is triple board certified in NMM/OMM, Integrative Medicine and Family Medicine.

Dr. Roberts devotes her time to her NMM/OMM private practice in Portland as well as to teaching OMM to residents at the Integrative Family Medicine Program and Fellowship, providing consultation services to postpartum women and their newborns at Mercy Hospital, and to the same population as well as to sicker children at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Maine Medical Center. Dr. Roberts also volunteers at the Portland Osteopathic Children's Clinic. She was exposed to Biodynamic Cranial Osteopathy in 1997 when she started her medical training and has been training and practicing in it since that time. She lives in Windham with her partner and two dogs.
